My name is Laurena Weninger, and I own and operate Write this Down Freelancing Services, providing website design and development.
My partner, Jeff, and I have three boys (5, 9 and 14 years) and we live in Oliver, B.C. We have two dogs, a cat, and three chickens (need eggs?) which nicely rounds out our family. We are avid outdoors-people, and can usually be found camping, fishing or quading in the hills of the South Okanagan.
My background began in Kelowna (long, long ago). After graduating, I went to university for four years, and achieved certification as an elementary school teacher. However, my days as an elementary school teacher were never meant to be - instead, I turned to freelance writing, then began working as a journalist. Over the last decade, I have been lucky enough to work as a reporter with the Penticton Herald Daily Newspaper, editor of the Oliver Chronicle weekly newspaper, and as reporter for the Osoyoos Times.
An avid learner, I've also spent some time studying the basics of Canadian Law, including courses on the Canadian Legal System and Litigation Procedures.
At this time I am turning my attention to self-employment - partly because I love the independence and the ability to foster my desire to learn - but also because it lets me spend more time with my growing family. While I still work occasionally as a freelance writer and photographer my main focus is website design and development.
